Five Examples of Precision You Only Get with a Bowlus
We talk a lot about quality, comfort, and performance at Bowlus because these are the tenets upon which we’ve built our company. You have to pay attention to the details if you want to deliver a luxury RV that’s perfect for modern, adventure-ready land travelers who wish to travel on their terms. And that is the secret to our success. As you can see in this video on our manufacturing process, we’re able to deliver best-in-class luxury RVs because we build them with a level of precision you simply can’t find with mass-produced RVs.
Here are five examples of precision you only get with a Bowlus.
- The aluminum Bowlus frame is welded to meet the rigorous standards required by the aircraft industry, with each joint TIG welded and aligned to within 1/32 of an inch. This far exceeds the quality you’ll find with any other RV on the market.
- We fabricate 70 percent of the components used in every Bowlus ourselves in our Oxnard, California facility. This allows us to control the quality of every Bowlus-centric part, ensuring that our exacting specifications are always met and we deliver a fit and finish that is truly breathtaking.
- At Bowlus, we have opted to use larger diameter electrical wire than you’ll find in most RVs. We do this because the larger gauge wire has less resistance, which means there is less voltage loss along the RV’s power lines.
- The windows of the Bowlus are a work of art. You’ll find large polycarbonate windows on both sides of the RV that are lightweight and exceedingly strong. Along with our unique skylights, which are made from the same polycarbonate material, the windows in a Bowlus allow you to take in the scenery during the day and the stars at night. The windows in a Bowlus are also curved, following the shape of our iconic shell, something that can only be achieved with precise manufacturing and installation. Plus, because the side windows open and close, they offer fantastic cross ventilation and allow you to take in the sounds of nature as well as the sights.
- Precision at Bowlus extends to the way we test each RV before it ever leaves our facility. Most RV companies have a “shower room” or “rain booth” that gently sprays water over the RV to test for water leaks. It’s hardly a realistic simulation of a rainstorm you might experience while on the road. We know Bowlus owners travel from Alaska to Newfoundland, so we designed a much more rigorous water test that uses highly pressurized streams of water to directly target each aluminum panel. Think of it as wild storm test conditions, and we never fail because whether it is a tornado (yes, we weathered one in a Bowlus) or just a downpour, we don’t want you wearing your rain gear inside!
