Why Do All RVs Look Alike?
If you walk through a campground or an RV dealer’s lot, there’s one thing you’ll quickly notice: all the RVs look pretty much the same. Sure, some brands have a little design flourish or swoosh of color here and there, but whether it’s a travel trailer, fifth wheel, or even a motorhome, most RVs look like they were designed using the same set of Lego bricks – because they were. The big manufacturers often use all the same parts because it’s the cheaper and easier way to mass produce their RVs. One of the (many) downsides is that every RV winds up looking like a big box on wheels.
But just one look at a Bowlus and it’s clear to see that in an industry marked by uniformity, our luxury RVs stand out from the crowd. From our iconic aerodynamic shape to the materials we use, everything about a Bowlus is different from your typical RV.
We manufacture 70% of the parts used to build a Bowlus ourselves, right here in the U.S. We don’t use third parties in other countries because we want to control the quality and ensure that every Bowlus-centric part can be seamlessly integrated. The result is an RV with outstanding fit and finish.
When selecting materials for our luxury travel trailers, we take our cues from the aerospace and nautical worlds, both of which have higher quality standards than the RV industry. Our signature profile is crafted using aircraft-grade aluminum and high-quality rivets that are both beautiful and incredibly strong. Once inside, you’ll find seating made with the most lush, durable materials – just like those used by high-end yacht manufacturers.
In addition to being durable and luxurious, the materials we use are selected because they’re lightweight. With a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of just 4,000 pounds, the Bowlus Volterra and Terra Firma models are considerably lighter than other 27-foot trailers in the industry. And the Bowlus Rivet at 3,500 for a full-sized RV with a separate bedroom is in a field of its own. That means not only is towing a dream, but you can tow a Bowlus with many luxury crossovers and SUVs, including hybrid and electric SUVs.
There’s nothing like a Bowlus.
