The World’s First All-Electric RV – Announcing the Bowlus Volterra

We’re excited to announce the launch of the next innovative luxury travel trailer in the Bowlus lineup – the all-electric 2023 Bowlus Volterra. 

Bowlus has a long history of being first to market in the RV industry, going all the way back to 1934 when Hawley Bowlus introduced the first aluminum travel trailer. That mission continues today with the debut of the Volterra, the most technologically advanced, sustainable luxury travel trailer in the world. 

Debuting at $310,000, the Volterra is the world’s first production all-electric RV. To ensure our discerning clientele have all the power they need to live off grid indefinitely, our engineers have designed the most advanced battery system and largest power bank available in a travel trailer – in fact at over 17 kilowatt hours, the Volterra offers more than a 100-percent increase in battery capacity compared to the Terra Firma. 

We’ve ditched the propane tank entirely with the Volterra, instead adding AeroSolarTM. Featuring up to 480 watts of solar power absorption and the latest generation battery management system,  AeroSolarTM  is always passively charging your batteries. That means the system is charging as you drive and while you camp – with no set up or activation needed.

The all-electric 2023 Bowlus Volterra has many other innovative features including the first induction cooktop in a travel trailer and the first integration of Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet, which offers up to 250 mbps download speeds. 

To further elevate and enhance the luxury traveler’s experience, the all-electric Volterra features a new state-of-the-art back-up camera, as well as 50 gallons in freshwater. The interior theme has been named La Cumbre inspired by the mountain peak behind Santa Barbara, California. The limited-edition luxurious interior features seating in “Ynez” with accent piping in “Rafael,” evoking a gorgeous California sunset.
